Epilogue

Habitación de Paso

Fronteras y Ecos · Final Exhibit · 5:18

The Cornerstone

Every journey eventually returns to where it began.

Not to relive the past, but to understand it differently. Places remain the same while the people who remember them quietly change.

Habitación de Paso revisits one of the defining moments of Fronteras y Ecos. The lyrics remain exactly as they were first written, yet everything surrounding them has changed. After the memories, the distance, the gratitude, and the acceptance explored throughout the album, the same room no longer represents secrecy alone. It has become a place where memory quietly lives.

The epilogue reminds us that time rarely changes the events themselves. It changes the meaning we give them.

Some stories return to where they began.

Only the person telling them is no longer the same.

Story Behind the Song

This final exhibit intentionally preserves the original lyrics exactly as they were first written and recorded. Nothing has been rewritten because nothing needed to be.

Rather than presenting a new chapter, the closing exhibit invites the listener to revisit one of the album's earliest moments after completing the emotional journey of Fronteras y Ecos. Every verse now carries the weight of everything that happened afterward.

The hotel room is no longer simply the setting of a hidden relationship. It has become a symbol of memory itself—a place where love, gratitude, joy, uncertainty, forgiveness, and acceptance quietly coexist.

Sometimes we revisit the past not because we wish to return, but because we finally understand what it gave us.

Lyrics

es

Verso 1

Llegabas tarde entre reuniones,

con tu perfume y tu ansiedad,

yo te esperaba en los hoteles

como quien espera eternidad.

Tus pasos lentos por el pasillo,

tu boca roja al sonreír,

y aquella forma de mirarme

como si el tiempo fuera a huir.

Coro

Y en aquella habitación prestada,

dejamos ropa… y soledad,

tú con tu vida organizada,

yo con mi vieja necesidad.

Pero al hacerte el amor, mi cielo,

todo parecía verdad,

como si el mundo se detuviera

para darnos una eternidad.

Verso 2

"Después de las seis no me escribas",

decías riendo entre los dos,

porque el amor cuando se esconde

arde más fuerte el corazón.

Y entre aeropuertos y distancias,

quedó tu voz dentro de mí,

como un bolero malherido

que nunca aprende a morir.

Coro

Y en aquella habitación prestada,

dejamos besos al partir,

tú regresando a tus horarios,

yo regresando a sobrevivir.

Pero algo tuyo se quedó conmigo,

y algo mío quedó en tu piel,

por eso cuando cae la noche

todavía vuelvo a aquel hotel.

Puente

No sé si fue amor o destino,

o solamente soledad,

pero tus labios en mis recuerdos

siguen pidiendo una vez más…

Final

Y aunque la vida nos separa

y otros nombres vengan después,

hay cuerpos que nunca se olvidan…

y hay noches…

que no terminan jamás.

Studio Notes

Habitación de Paso serves as the Epilogue of Fronteras y Ecos.

Unlike a traditional bonus track, this recording intentionally returns to one of the album's earliest chapters without changing a single lyric. The transformation belongs entirely to the listener, who now understands the story from a broader perspective.

Placed at the end of the collection, the epilogue creates a circular narrative. The album begins with discovery, travels through intimacy, gratitude, distance, memory, acceptance, and finally returns to the room where everything once seemed possible.

This exhibit closes the first permanent collection of the Francisco Colón Studio. Rather than offering a new destination, it invites visitors to look back across every exhibit and discover how profoundly the journey has changed their understanding of the beginning.

Musically, this version should feel more reflective than the original. Rather than anticipation, it should carry the peaceful weight of remembrance, allowing every familiar phrase to resonate with new meaning.

The song reminds us that memories rarely change. We do.
